UAL Fortitude commences first sailing on new Mediterranean service

PRESS RELEASE – On June 24, the UAL Fortitude will commence its first sailing on Universal Africa Lines’ new liner service between the Mediterranean and Black Sea to West Africa.

The UAL Fortitude is a heavy-lift carrier equipped with two 180-tonne cranes and a combined lifting capacity of up to 360 tonnes.

The first port of loading is Marina di Carrara in Italy. From there the vessel will sail to Rijeka in Croatia, Skikda in Algeria and onto Port Harcourt and Onne in Nigeria, Pointe Noire in Congo and Luanda and Sonils in Angola. Other ports can be added on inducement.

“We are very pleased that we will be able to perform our first scheduled voyage so quickly after opening our new office in Denmark. In these extraordinary times which we are currently facing, this is a huge achievement”, says Harald Maas, Director of UAL Netherlands.

Directors Samir Ferguen and Morten Moeller of UAL’s new chartering desk in Denmark added: “We are very proud to have established the first Mediterranean sailing for UAL within our first month with the group. The feedback and support that we have received from our customers have been extraordinary and we look forward to serving them on a regular basis. The planning of the next voyage is already in process.”
