Video: Jumbo-SAL-Alliance heavy-lift vessels meet up in Genoa

Heavy lift vessels operating in the Jumbo-SAL-Alliance all convened in the Port of Genoa, Italy to load project cargo for delivery across the globe. Genoa welcomed the Fairmaster, Wiebke and Calypso. 

The Fairmaster loaded 13 yachts with a weight ranging from 20 to 240 tonnes for Jumbo-SAL-Alliance’s customer Cigisped Yacht Transport. Out of the 13 yachts, ten are destined for Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates while the remaining three will be delivered to Hong Kong. According to the AIS data, the vessel has already completed the first leg of its journey to Jebel Ali and has headed out to Hong Kong. Currently it is sailing in the Malacca Strait, Indonesia.

Heavy lift vessel Wiebke also loaded yachts in Genoa. The vessel loaded a total of ten yachts destined for Boston and Palm Beach. The delivery was made for Sevenstar Yacht Transport. The heaviest of the yachts had a weight of 124 tons measuring 33.75 metres by 7.97 metres. AIS data shows the vessel has already completed its deliveries and is currently moored at the Compas’ terminal in Tolu, Colombia.

Calypso on the other hand loaded a heavier cargo including a 578-ton gas turbine. The unit was placed under deck with about 2,151 cubic metres of accessories. The vessel also headed off to the United States.
