FMI handles project cargo delivery for Cevital’s plant in Algeria
French freight forwarding specialist FMI Grupe (Fos Maritime International) has handled the delivery of project cargo from Belgium to Cevital Group’s agro-industrial plant in Bejaia in Algeria. Cevital Group is building a new oilseed crushing plant in Bejaia and still expects to inaugurate the facility by the end of the year.
FMI has arranged the transport of construction elements for the oilseed crushing facility. Project cargo consisted of 68 units totalling 1,352 tons and 9080 cubic meters. This included two units weighing 178 tons and four units weighing between 70 and 107 tons.
FMI chartered Amasus’ 4,200 dwt heavy lift vessel, the Eemslift Ellen for the job. The vessel was operated by MSM Hong Kong, a unit and chartering division of FMI Group. Loading of the project cargo took place in the Port of Antwerp and was carried out in partnership with Steinweg.
The vessel departed port of Antwerp at the end of October and completed the unloading in Algeria in the early days of November, before heading off to Turkey on her next assignment.
