Fracht FWO Polska transports Dolna Odra project cargo

Fracht FWO Polska, the Warsaw branch of the Swiss transportation and logistics group Fracht, handled the transportation of oversized elements of the boiler installation for the Dolna Odra project.

Last week, Fracht FWO Polska completed another delivery to the Dolna Odra construction site in Nowy Czarnów, in northwestern Poland. This delivery of oversized elements of the boiler installation follows that of a 384-ton gas turbine, transported to the project site from France.

The cargo arrived from Italy to Szczecin aboard the Eemslift Henrika general cargo ship. Built in 2015, the ship measures 111.6 metres in length and 16.8 metres in width, with a gross tonnage of 5,460 metric tonnes. It sails under the flag of the Netherlands.

The cargo was then directly transferred from the Eemslift Henrika onto a barge, before being transported to the quay beside the power plant. For last mile transport, from the unloading platform to the place of storage, Fracht FWO Polska used specialised road trailers.

BestLogistics also participated in this transport for the Dolna Ondra project, which involves the conversion of a coal-fired power station in the Western Pomerania region of Poland, into a 1.4GW combined-cycle gas-fired power plant.
