Global Cargo Care has been on hand for the loading and unloading of two Siemens Energy transformers destined for the Viking Link project. 

At the Mammoet terminal in Schiedam, Netherlands, Global Cargo Care attended the loading and securing operation for the two transformers. The company was also present in Immingham for the discharge operation.

Viking Link Interconnector is a 767km-long, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission link to interconnect the electricity networks of Denmark and Great Britain.

The Viking Link HVDC Interconnector will allow the bi-directional transmission of up to 1.4GW of clean energy between the UK and Denmark, ensuring a reliable electricity supply in both countries. The project is being developed jointly by National Grid and Energinet, while Siemens Energy is the lead contractor for the 1,400 MW interconnector.
