During last week, the team at Port of Dover Cargo Terminal discharged a 333-tonne transformer from a Ro-Ro vessel. The operation required teamwork and expertise of the terminal’s engineering and cargo operation team.

“To ensure a successful discharge process, we worked with Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs). These specialised, multi-axle trailers are designed to handle the weight and size of heavy loads. The Ro-Ro vessel allowed for the smooth transition of the transformer from the ship onto the SPMTs, which then transported the cargo to its designated location,” the terminal company noted.
