TGP delivers OOG cargo to Azeri power plant

Trans Global Projects (TGP) has recently been called into action to deliver turbines and generators for a power production facility in Azerbaijan. The company was tasked with moving six out-of-gauge units from Genoa to Baku. 

TGP said the six out-of-gauge units weighing 1,262 tons were transported onboard ASCO’s multipurpose vessel Shair Vagif from Genoa in Italy to Baku. Upon arrival, TGP’s crews managed the discharge and delivery of the cargo to the job site, where it was installed on its foundations, at the Azerenergy OJSC’s Mingecevir power plant.

The 1280 MW plant, built by Azerenergy OJSC, is the largest power plant, in terms of production capacity, to be built since the Republic of Azerbaijan gained independence in 1991, and is intended to ensure Azerbaijan’s energy security – a key national strategy.
