Blue Water has recently pulled the strings and enlisted the services of its local team to relocate two drilling rigs from Western Australia to Papua New Guinea. The company obtained over-height and size permits for the relocation of the two units for Anitua Radial Drilling Services for phase 14a of the Lihir Gold Limited project.

Subsequently, the team efficiently loaded the equipment onto the BBC Ocean vessel for export to Lihir Gold. Anitua, a key player in the drilling services industry, trusted Blue Water as their logistics partner for this significant project.

The coordination with the client’s transport provider and terminal ensured the timely and secure delivery of the drill rigs. The loading process onto the vessel BBC Ocean was conducted with precision, emphasising safety as a top priority.

Patrick Fitzgerald, Project Manager at Blue Water Oceania, says, “This project showcased our team’s capabilities in handling complex logistics with precision and efficiency. We are pleased to have successfully delivered on our commitments, ensuring the safe relocation of the drill rigs for Anitua Drilling Services.”

Blue Water said that since opening its locations in Port Moresby and Lae, it built a strong relationship with local businesses and partners, reflected in the completion of this project.
