Boskalis’ T-class heavy transport pair heralds the start of US campaign

Boskalis is gearing up to start one of its largest offshore wind projects in 2024, as its two semi-submersible heavy transport vessels are set to depart for the United States. The company said its T-class transport vessels Target and Triumph are loaded with four XXL monopiles on deck, each. 

The pair will soon depart to the United States East Coast, marking the start of Boskalis’ US campaign. The company’s converted crane vessel Bokalift 2 is set to install these huge offshore wind turbine foundations.

The Bokalift 2 is Boskalis’ largest crane vessel. The DP2 vessel boasts 7,500 square meters of free deck space and a 4,000-ton revolving crane capable of lifting structures more than 100 meters high

Boskalis said it will deploy many specialised vessels from its fleet and local US vessels to work on transporting and installing numerous wind turbine foundations and offshore substations.
