G2 Ocean adds four dual-fuel vessels to its fleet

G2 Ocean placed an order for four 82,300 deadweight ton (dwt) ammonia/methanol-ready Open Hatch vessels. Provided by Gearbulk and with an overall length of 225 meters and a beam of 36 meters, the first two vessels will be ready for deployment in the first half of 2027.

The deal entails the construction of two of these vessels, which will be carried out by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Longxue, a Chinese ship manufacturer. The contract also has an option to purchase two more, hence the four in total.

In addition to these four vessels, G2 Ocean will also get four ammonia-ready vessels from Grieg Maritime Group, shareholder and partner of the company. These four vessels will be delivered by 2026. All these eight vessels will be well-suited for G2 Ocean’s long-haul pulp trade, the company specified.
