TGP ships wind turbine components to Vietnam
Trans Global Projects (TGP) has recently caught wind in China with six sets of wind turbine components loaded and shipped to Vietnam on two vessels. The company has secured the job of shipping 24 complete sets of wind turbines.
With the current Red Sea factor limiting the number of larger MPP vessels open in the Far East, TGP chartered an open deck carrier, the MV Yu Zhou Shi Jia, on its maiden voyage no less, to carry the blades from the port of Lianyungang to Vinh Hung port.
Swire Projects’ MV Pacific Excellence, an F-240 type vessel was booked to transport the corresponding nacelles, hubs, generators and tower sections to Vietnam following a two-port loading in Lianyungang and Tianjin ports.

With the blade lengths at 76 metres and the heaviest items being the generators at 87 tonnes, the combined volume of the shipment over both vessels was 35,588 cubic metres.
“Anyone with a mind for statistics in this Olympic year might like to know that’s the same volume as 14.2352 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Only another 42 more “pools” to be shipped next then,” TGP said.
