It was business as usual for the JSI Alliance members as the heavy-lift vessel Fairplayer recently transported a Bedeschi shiploader. The vessel loaded the 370-tonne unit at Jebel Ali and delivered it to Fertil in Ruwais, UAE.

The transport has been made easier with the vessel’s capabilities. The shiploader measuring 23,000 cubic metres, with a size of 39,35 metres by 16 metres by 36,7 metres, was lifted onboard the heavy-lift vessel using its two 900-tonne capacity cranes.

This shiploader was manufactured by Bedeschi for fertilizer and granulated urea. The design capacity of the machine is 1.200 t/h and it will be running on rails, with a towed tripper to divert the product from a wharf gallery conveyor onto a transfer belt, and then to a loading boom belt.

The tailormade shiploader will be luffing and slewing to facilitate all loading operations required at the terminal.
