The heavy-lift vessel Combi 1, owned by SAL Heavy Lift recently completed the transshipment of mobile harbour cranes to Ivory Coast. Terminal Industriel Polyvalent de San Pedro (TIPSP) ordered the two LHM 550 cranes at Liebherr.

The Combi Dock I is part of the pool agreement between RollDock and SAL. The vessel was built in Bremerhaven (Germany) and has been operational since 2008. RollDock carried out the transshipment of the cranes to the new San Pedro terminal, in Ivory Coast.

At a new terminal of San Pedro the machines will mainly do bulk handling. The Liebherr SmartGrip assistance system will be used here to provide optimum support for the crane operators.

With an outreach of 54 metres, the LHM 550 is suited for handling bulk cargoes in the Capesize ship class, container handling in the New-Panamax ships class, as well as for the handling of general cargoes and heavy-lift operations of up to 154 tonnes.
