KOGA Shipping brings Frisian Octa to its fleet
King Ocean Gulf Alliance (KOGA Shipping) continues making additions to its fleet, with the latest modern MPP to join being the Frisian Octa. The 2010-built vessel with 8,200 dwt will serve the company over a one-year period starting April 2022.
The company said the vessel will start operating from Wilmington in the United States, Seeking cargoes direction Caribs/NCSA. Frisian Octa is sailing under the Dutch flag. The vessel was built by the Damen Shipyard Bergum and for Boomsma Shipping, a Sneek, Friesland-based shipper. Since 2014, its vessels have been managed by New Tide in Rotterdam.
Boomsma added Frisian Octa to its fleet in January this year, completing its plan to own a vessel with its own gear. Frisian Octa features 40 mt lifting gear.
Earlier this year, KOGA Shipping added HR Revolution to its fleet with delivery scheduled for April/May. The vessel features two 250 ton cranes with a combined lifting capacity of 500 tons.
