PRESS RELEASE – ZPMC has delivered two new ship-to-shore cranes at the Rotterdam World Gateway container terminal in the port of Rotterdam. The cranes arrived aboard the heavy transport vessel Zhen Hua 26, which is also carrying two cranes for HHLA in Hamburg.

The cranes are built by ZPMC in China and are the largest of their kind. They have a lifting height of 56 meters and can load and unload containers up to 26 rows wide onboard ships.

The unloading of the cranes takes approximately ten days, after which they will be put into operation on RWG’s quay in the coming months. In addition to the two new quay cranes, RWG has also invested in 25 new Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs).

“With the arrival of the cranes and AGVs, we are committed to the further optimization of our services and capacity”, says RWG’s CEO Ronald Lugthart.

The Zhen Hua 26 arrived in the port of Rotterdam with four cranes on board. The other two cranes seem to be destined for HHLA’s Burcharkai terminal in the port of Hamburg.
