Logistics services provider Hellmann has executed the delivery of two new locomotives to Egypt after being picked for the job by a French manufacturer in July last year.

Hellman France and Hellmann Egypt teams coordinated the final delivery for the National Authorities for Tunnel in Egypt (NAT) with the two locomotives reaching Cairo in December.

Hellmann has been facing several challenges in origin and destination to get this cargo delivered in good conditions considering that delivery was in DDP CAIRO with all the new Egyptian customs process to apply.

Despite the difficulties of the brand new customs procedure to import in Egypt, Hellmann has been working hard to get the last mile operation smoothly. Each locomotive needed to be placed on the rail track in Alexandria Port to be pulled then by two locotractors up to Cairo final workshop.

This operation requires a lot of effort and meeting with the local authorities supported by Hellmann Egypt to get all the players to align and finally to have the approval to proceed with this move up to Cairo.

This project has also been the first collaboration between two new Hellmann offices.
