PRESS RELEASE – Cadeler will be sending the installation vessel Pacific Orca to the United Kingdom in early 2021 to help Deme install the foundations for the Hornsea 2 offshore windfarm.

Pacific Orca will support Deme’s vessel Innovation with the installation of 165 monopile foundations at Ørsted’s Hornsea 2 project. Once the foundations are placed, 8.4 MW turbines will be delivered by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and installed by Deme vessels.

Hornsea 2 is located off the coast of Yorkshire and will provide 1.4 GW of offshore wind power upon connection to the grid, meeting the electricity needs of 1.3 million households.

Cadeler is the new name of Swire Blue Ocean which has been rebranded as part of a planned IPO in Norway. With the listing at the Oslo stock exchange, the company wants to raise funds for its planned fleet expansion. The company is looking to add at least one new installation vessel, with an option for a second one, and upgrade the lift capacities of two of its existing vessels. The rebranding and IPO were announced this month.
