Within months after vessel reservation, and weeks after unveiling the contract with Van Oord, Jumbo Offshore has installed the first 20 transition pieces for the Baltic Eagle project.

Jumbo Offshore, part of Jumbo Maritime, a member in the Jumbo-SAL-Alliance, has left every TP bolted and grouted, ready for Van Oord to take over and install the cables.

The two companies have reminded the cooperation on the Baltic Eagle project draws on the experience of the previous collaboration on the Arkona offshore wind farm project.

Baltic Eagle is a 476-megawatt offshore wind farm under construction in the Baltic Sea that covers an area of 40 square kilometres off the northeast coast of the German island of Rügen, in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. The Jumbo Offshore scope includes 33 TPs transported from the port of Mukran in Germany to the site followed by installation, including grouting and bolting, and completion works.

With a total investment of over 1.1 billion euros, commissioning is expected for the first quarter of 2024.
