Lamprell, a provider of fabrication and engineering services to the energy sector, has completed the final delivery of transition pieces (TPs) for the Moray West offshore wind farm project.

This landmark achievement marks the delivery of all 62 TPs, including the two final units recently delivered to Scotland. The project, awarded in 2022, involved the fabrication of 60 wind turbine generator TPs and two offshore substation TPs.

On-time, on-budget delivery

The Lamprell team delivered the project on schedule and within budget, surpassing safety targets with zero lost time incidents. This success underscores the effectiveness of Lamprell’s serial production line, specifically designed to meet the growing demands of the offshore wind sector. The team’s dedication and expertise were instrumental in achieving this significant milestone.

“We are incredibly proud to have partnered with OW Ocean Winds on the successful completion of the Moray West project,” the company said in a brief social media statement. “The exceptional collaboration between our teams ensured the delivery of high-quality TPs throughout the project.”

Located off the east coast of Scotland, the 882 MW Moray West wind farm will have the capacity to power up to 1.3 million homes in the UK, making a significant contribution to the country’s renewable energy goals.
