Rhenus Project Logistics Thailand recently handled the import of kiln shells from Germany and kiln tyres from Italy for the construction of a cement factory in Thailand.

With parts weighing up to 106 tonnes, the team worked closely with its local units to provide its customer International Packing and Logistic Solutions (IPLS) with a seamless logistics experience.

The transport has been completed by the 2011-built F-Type multipurpose vessel Josef. Owned by HS Schiffahrts and operated by dship carriers, the vessel unloaded the project cargo at Laem Chabang Port and is already heading back towards the Mediterranean, currently passing the Suez Canal.

New MD for Rhenus Thailand

Rhenus Project Logistics is part Rhenus Group, a logistics service provider based in Hilden. The company has recently also made a new appointment for its unit in Thailand. The company has named Tim Burger as managing director of Rhenus Thailand, starting from January 1, 2022.

Burger has taken over the responsibilities from Joachin Hansen, CEO South-East Asia & Oceania. Hansen has held the dual role of CEO and MD, Rhenus Thailand since 2017.

“Under Tim, we have seen a strong growth in our contract logistics and domestic transportation segments in the last few years and I have no doubt that as MD he will take Rhenus Thailand to even greater heights.”, comments Joachim Hassen.
