Rhenus expands activities in silo road-transportation by acquiring the Nederlandse Transport Maatschappij (NTM) transportation company this month.

Headquartered in Hardenberg in the Netherlands, NTM has multiple business sites on the German-Dutch border. The company transports goods including building materials, sensitive GMP and chemical products, minerals and plastic granules, as well as free-flowing and powdery goods. NTM also offers warehousing, picking, quality checks, refilling and filling big bags as well as packaging solution services.

Heiner Höfkes, Managing Director Rhenus Port Road stated: “We’re delighted to expand our expertise and our services in the silo business through taking over NTM, particularly for our customers in the building industry and providers of GMP and petrochemical products, industrial minerals and wood pellets.”

NTM will continue to exist as its own company within the Rhenus Group under Managing Director Henk Batterink. He stated that: “This new working relationship is a win-win situation for us: thanks to Rhenus’ extensive network, our sphere of activities will increase in Europe and we’ll also be able to scale our business by making use of the many years of experience gained by our current workforce.”
