MACS and UAL begin new multipurpose service

German multipurpose carrier MACS and Cyprus-based United Africa Lines (UAL) are starting a joint multipurpose service from Northwest Europe to East Africa.  

The Service will accept Containers, Break Bulk, Project Cargo, Heavy Lifts and Neobulk Cargoes and will start with monthly sailings.

Ports of call on the continent will be Antwerp, Rotterdam and Hamburg with additional ports served subject to inducement. In East Africa ports of call will be Nacala and Pemba. The first ship, the MV Red Cedar, will set sail from Antwerp on the 25th of April. The second vessel, the MV Green Mountain, will follow on the 23rd of May, also departing from Antwerp.
