The Rotterdam-based cooperative of European private-sector inland waterway shipping companies, NPRC, handled project cargo destined for Duinrell.

Many Dutch children will easily recognise Rick the Frog, the familiar mascot of the Duinrell Holiday and Amusement Park, which opened in Wassenaar in 1935. Home to the longest waterslide in the Netherlands, the park also boasts a variety of accommodations, including a campsite and caravan park. The park is expanding the housing which it has on offer, with a shipment of prefabricated bungalows, or ‘Duingalows,’ designed by the Sliedrecht-based manufacturer, Maat Chalets.

The shipment of ‘Duingalows’ was handled on behalf of the Zwijndrecht-based company, Pro-Log, which specialises in logistics services and chartering for container barges. The cargo was transported approximately 100 kilometres from Groot-Ammers to Katwijk, along inland waterways, aboard the cargo vessel Jan. Built in 1985, the Jan sails under the flag of Antigua and Barbuda. It has an overall length of 81 metres, and a breadth of 13 metres, as well as a gross tonnage of 1,749 tonnes.
