From a team member to a team leader, the story of Elena Mihailidou, Hub Logistics
Keeping the customers happy is always a balancing act. It includes many responsibilities and requires many different characteristics as no customer is the same. Elena Mihailidou, responsible for customer service at Hub Logistics, part of the Cosmatos Group of companies, is one of those people.
Mihailidou’s responsibilities include assisting in the smooth operations of the company’s logistics department, handling customs clearance procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and documentation requirements for various shipments.
A fast-paced average day for Mihailidou
“In my current position at Hub Logistics, an average day is dynamic and fast-paced,” Mihailidou said. Within a day’s work, she will handle client communication, starting with responding to inquiries, and addressing their needs promptly. This involves coordinating shipments and addressing any issues they may have.
She also handles order processing which involves reviewing orders, ensuring accuracy, and liaising with various teams, such as warehouse and transportation, to ensure timely fulfilment. Mihailidou also keeps accurate records of shipments, transactions, and other relevant documentation.
This is all done in parallel to troubleshooting issues like shipment delays, addressing customer complaints, and other logistics challenges, working closely with internal teams,
Rising through the ranks
“Since I began my career, my field has evolved significantly. Over the past 10 years, I have gained valuable work experience, starting as an office assistant and gradually advancing to managing teams and assisting companies in achieving their goals. I have had the opportunity to be both a team member and a team leader,” Mihailidou said.
However, going forward, she expects to see more opportunities for professional development and training, enabling the staff to better meet the demand of their respective roles. “I believe implementing sustainable practices and prioritising environmental consciousness would be a positive change, both for our company and the industry as a whole.” she said.
Completing a supply chain for a project gives her a sense of achievement and satisfaction. However, the developing industry and specific nature of each project brings the challenge of continuously having to improve and optimise processes in order to achieve efficiency and effectiveness.

Of course the ability to work with a variety of people and how I develop interpersonal and management skills.
