Swire Projects moves cable reels from Jubail to Newcastle

Swire Projects, a projects and heavy lift shipping services division of Swire Shipping has recently responded to a time-critical request for one of its clients. The client needed to move a total of 24 cable reels. 

Swire Projects deployed its its F-Type MPP, Pacific Fortune for the job. The 12,700 dwt vessel, featuring two 150-ton cranes was on hand to deliver all 24 cable reels from Jubail, Saudi Arabia to Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom.

With a height of approximately 11 meters each, these reels collectively occupied a total of 16,754 cubic meters. To ensure the safe transportation of this cargo, the Swire Projects team of transport engineers planned and coordinated the safe handling, stowage, and transportation of these massive reels.

The project cargo shipping division said it leveraged its extensive track record in the sector when completing the job. Swire Projects is offering bespoke global sailings but also complements it with dedicated semi-liner services.
