Bedeschi MSCU delivered in Ashdod, Israel by Jumbo-SAL-Alliance

Heavy lift vessel Calypso (type 116), operating in the Jumbo-SAL-Alliance, delivered a 742 t Mechanical Continuous Ship Unloader (MSCU), for the Italian machinery manufacturing group, Bedeschi.

The alliance between the Schiedam based heavy lift, maritime transport and offshore installation company, Jumbo, and SAL, transported the fully assembled MSCU from the Haydarpasa Terminal in Istanbul, Turkey, to Ashdod, Israel’s largest port. There, it was discharged from the 10,000 dwt vessel onto rails, on June 3rd, 2022.

The MSCU will operate at a capacity of 1200 t/h. Its cutter will be able to unload free flowing as well as non-free flowing materials (meals, distiller’s dried grains with solubles). Additionally, material may be delivered to a quay belt conveyor or directly loaded into trucks.

Today, the Calypso is in Bordeaux, France.
