Another transformer on rail across Sweden
The boom in the transformers market continues as the demands for electricity continue to grow. F.H. Bertling Logistics found itself in the thick of it, with a task to deliver a 200-ton transformer to the Stockholm area.
The accelerated rhythm in which the transformers market, shift in power generation, high investment in power transmission, have put a lot of strain on the shipping industry. However, to move the a 200-ton transformer within Sweden, Bertling turned to rail.
The logistics specialist faced a major challenge, which was to manoeuvre the transformer close to the station house. The company called into action a 600-ton crane to complete the unloading within a limited working area. Once arriving at the final destination the transformer will be installed and play a vital role in supplying electricity to the capital city, Stockholm.
