The boom in the transformers market continues as the demands for electricity continue to grow. F.H. Bertling Logistics found itself in the thick of it, with a task to deliver a 200-ton transformer to the Stockholm area.
The accelerated rhythm in which the transformers market, shift in power generation, high investment in power transmission, have put a lot of strain on the shipping industry. However, to move the a 200-ton transformer within Sweden, Bertling turned to rail.
The logistics specialist faced a major challenge, which was to manoeuvre the transformer close to the station house. The company called into action a 600-ton crane to complete the unloading within a limited working area. Once arriving at the final destination the transformer will be installed and play a vital role in supplying electricity to the capital city, Stockholm.
