F.H. Bertling Logistics transports drilling equipment through the Alps

The Hamburg-based company, F.H. Bertling Logistics handled the transport of 131,660 kilograms of drilling equipment from Austria to Spain, via truck.

The heaviest piece of equipment was a 35-tonne boring machine, used for drilling holes, which measured 6 metres by 2,95 metres by 3,3 metres. The cargo was loaded in the Austrian section of the Alps mountain range, by F.H. Bertling Logistics’ Gothenburg team. Due to weather conditions at the original location, causing a risk of snow-in, the client gave F.H. Bertling a week of pre-notice to organise the transportation of five flatbeds and one lowbed to the project site in the south of Spain. The cargo arrived after travelling over 2000 kilometres.
