Surgical precision, that’s how the float-over installation of the 11,500-tonne Bokor CPP-A platform topsides offshore Sarawak, Malaysia, can be characterised. For this incredibly precise operation, Boskalis’ semi-submersible heavy transport vessel Forte was fitted out with a dynamic positioning (DP2) system.

The DP2 system automatically controlled the vessel’s position and course during the installation activities. With very limited space to manoeuvre during the float-over, true craftsmanship was displayed by the project team and crew onboard the Forte. Watch the stunning video of this operation.
