PRESS RELEASE – Marguisa Shipping Lines has appointed Wasa Projects & Chartering as its general agent in Brasil as of January 2021. The appointment is part of an ongoing expansion plan with full container services followed by the existing express and exclusive ro/ro services to West Africa.

Wasa Projects & Chartering offers dedicated road, ocean and air freight solutions and is experienced in specialized shipping solutions for oil & gas, mining, energy, infrastructure, engineering and construction including steel mills and cement plant expansions, chemicals and general cargo sectors.

With the partnership, Marguisa wants to expand its presence in Latin America and grow both its container and ro/ro services in the region.

“We are already present in Brazil through our ro/ro service to West Africa and with our own containers via feeder services, for which we offer transhipment in Tanger and Algeciras to African ports such as Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tomé & Principe, Douala, Cotonou andLomé”, says Andrés Cadenas, head of sales and marketing at Marguisa.

Tanger and Algeciras will now also be the connecting ports for the Brazilian export cargoes, says managing director Gilberto Lima of Wasa Projects.
