Fracht USA transporting transformers from Antwerp to North America
Houston-headquartered logistics service provider Fracht USA, has arranged the loading and transport operation at the Port of Antwerp.
Partnering with BigLift Shipping, Fracht USA arranged the transport of four transformers weighing up to 400mt. Some of the units were lifted using the quayside cranes while some were lifted using the cranes onboard the Happy River vessel that was deployed for the job.
BigLift’s Happy-R Type vessels are all equipped with 400mt SWL Huisman cranes, they can handle units up to 800mt in a tandem lift. The versatile heavy lift vessels can also be used for bulk cargoes and other general commodities.
The loading operation was supervises by Fracht Netherlands teams.
Fracht further noted that the units will be shipped to various ports in the United States and Canada. AIS data still shows the vessel is at the port preparing to sail away.
Upon arrival, Fracht USA is set to receive the transformers onto its own 12- and 16-axle depressed railcars for further transport.
