In one of its final shipping operations of the year 2021, Blue Water Shipping handled the delivery of two heavy oversize reels in China.

The company’s TED (Technical Engineering Department), subject matter experts and suppliers have devised a logistics solution to ship the two 250-ton reels, each with a 16-metre diameter.

Blue Water’s chartering desk managed to source one of the highly demanded open-deck carrier vessels. The TED has to think out of the box on the engineering design on load spreading, stability, sea fastening, stowing and safe voyage of the cargo.

Blue Water chartered the Zhen Xin 10 open-deck cargo vessel for the job. According to the vessel’s AIS data, it is currently sailing in the China’s Yellow Sea and heading towards Dalian.
